While the older Bing map aerial does not show some activity toward the top part of the forested area, one I happened to find on Mapquest surely does. In fact, the Mapquest aerial is much clearer than Google of the upper disturbance. I am not sure what it is, but someone is doing something in that clearing. This area is proximate to the dump site. Wonder what it is and when this was taken.

I think it was on the findmorgan thread where I read that there was a squatter's camp site in that location. I don't think it's there anymore, but it was there at some point in the past.
Interesting point. Someone that camped in the area (or lived in a tent in the area) would be very familiar with the surrounding area, and would not exactly be completely normal.

This shows what looks to be disturbed dirt and clearing. I am not buying this was a squatter. It also is a big deal just to pitch a tent and hide. Someone has cut down a ton of trees.

You're right ... it's a good sized area. I need to think about this a bit. It doesn't make any sense that that little area was being logged. Could there be a power station there? That's probably farfetched ... if there was a small road to the area, it could mean that there's something located there related to the district (like power)

I'm thinking it may be a clearing for a cell tower...could be wrong.
Jester, were you able to get an idea of where that green gate is in regards to where Morgan was found? The gate is 1.2 miles from 29 on Red Hill Rd.
I've been under the weather so didn't make it back out there this past weekend....on a plus side, the snow is melting away now, so when I do get back out there, there should be no more snow as long as another storm doesn't hit before that time comes.

I hope you're feeling better soon. There are a couple of flu bugs circulating right now.
I haven't looked at the map layout yet. I've got a 5 week work commitment that's going to take up most of my time in the near future. I'll try to look at it Thursday late, and hopefully be able to put the locations together and post something then.

Some additional imagery of the new dig. And it is a new dig. Note - on Google Earth, the lake on the left is still being built. On the Mapquest image, the lake is filled. The disturbance off Red Hill was not in the Google Earth but it is here. That times it to 2009. Not in any way implying anything wrong. But work was underway in those woods.

Nice find! So that means there could have been surveyors and construction type people that came to know the area well in the last year.

There is a road leading from the dam construction site across Red Hill Road down to the Hardware River!

Is there a fence on Redhill Drive at the west border of Anchorage Farm property, by the creek. It sounds like the creek is low and wide at a couple of points on the property, but is probably nothing more than a culvert under Redhill Drive. I'm curious.
And ... most importantly ... is there a fence? Could someone drive from Redhill onto or near the property without encountering fences, and having to drive through a creek ... if one were to trespass into the property from Redhill Drive?
Question is ... could someone drive from Redhill Drive near the location where Morgan was found without encountering a fence? Are the banks of the creek high, or is this a low, wide creek?
I'm wondering if MrK (not sure about that name) was right that a murderer entered the property from the south, or if it is more likely that a murderer entered the property from the north.

yes, that red hill side is fenced. I think crews were down there loading creek rock. there are probably fords so they can get scoop loaders into the creek.
